Adjacent to it stands Jantar Mantar, the UNESCO-listed astronomical observatory built in 1734. Its instruments can measure time to within two seconds, and predict solar eclipses months in advance — all without a single digital component.

Then we walk through Johari Bazaar, Jaipur's legendary gem market, where craftsmen still cut stones by hand under the same arches where their great-grandparents traded.
